Les strips Goldorak sont initialement parus dans le programme du club lausannois Dolce Vita entre août 1997 et mai 1998.

Goldorak fut élevé au statut de BD culte par la clientèle du club rock dès la parution du 2e strip et connut dès lors un succés sans précédent dans la BD underground helvétique.

Il convenait donc d’en faire un recueil; la 1ère édition de cet ouvrage fut produite en octobre 1998 pour satisfaire les plus grands fans – des happy few qui héritèrent de l’un des 50 exemplaires numérotés et signés par l’auteur, couverture et dos encrés à  la main sur pepier rose 183 grammes.
